The first draft is now complete and ready for editing. Illustrations, cover design, end pages, and other details will determine the book's release date. Our goal is to offer the book in some form during the summer. It is likely to top TREASURE, create some controversy regarding mining and the mysterious absence of records regarding Mikwam-migwan's death and burial, and other missing information.
November 18, 1886 was the date of a particularly notable blizzard that hit northwestern Wisconsin very hard. Old Ice Feathers was, on that day, found dead along a trail most believe was near his silver mine.
He was found, by the way, by one of the many claim jumpers who sought his silver.
The authorities would not investigate the death of an old Indian found in the woods.
The above statement is the inspiration for the second Tor Loken novel. A number of tragedies befall Tor's friends and others related to the Namakagon Timber Company. New characters appear. New challenges arise. The relationship between Tor and Rosie changes directions. Strange things occur and Tor is left to solve the mystery of Chief Namakagon's
death.
The story twists and turns as the tale, based again on actual, historical events, unfolds page-by-page.
The novel will be in Redbery Books, along with THE TREASURE OF NAMAKAGON and DARK in mid-summer. TOR LOKEN AND THE DEATH OF CHIEF NAMAKAGON will be offered, as the others, as an ebook on Smashwords.com. It will be available on this website and in the bookstores by Labor Day, 2013.
